One Training Method.
The Permanent Method was created with the core value of raising the standard of permanent makeup education in Minnesota. After years of working with artists who came from ineffective training programs and incomplete apprenticeships, we saw a need for something more comprehensive: an education built for lasting success.
Permanent makeup is a skill, a science, an art form, and a career that requires continual growth. While no course can prepare you for every situation you will encounter with a client, the right foundation can transform the trajectory of your career. Our program is intentionally designed to provide that foundation; equipping you with the knowledge, confidence, and technical skill needed to thrive in this ever challenging industry.
Mentorship beyond the classroom.
What sets The Permanent Method apart is our commitment to mentorship beyond the classroom. Training continues through an apprenticeship experience, helping you refine your skills, gain real-world experience, and grow under expert guidance.
This program is for ambitious artists who are committed to mastering their craft and building a respected, long-lasting career. We are developing the next generation of permanent makeup industry leaders.
More practice. Better feedback. Stronger fundamentals.
The Permanent Method was built around a simple belief: strong artists begin with strong foundations.
After years of meeting permanent makeup artists who had completed training but still felt uncertain in their work, Jonelle and Margaret saw a recurring pattern. The gaps were rarely about ambition. They were about education: too little hands-on practice, not enough individualized correction, and an incomplete understanding of the fundamentals that influence every healed result.
So they created the kind of foundational program they felt the industry needed: more comprehensive, more intentional, and designed to give each subject the time it deserves.
Skin, pigment, sanitation, mapping, machine control, and technique are not treated as isolated topics. They are taught as interconnected parts of the same process, with time built in to practice, refine, review, and understand the reasoning behind the work.
The program is designed for those entering cosmetic tattooing for the first time, beauty professionals expanding into permanent makeup, and artists who have trained before but still feel unsure of their foundation.
Because in permanent makeup, confidence should not come from simply completing a course. It should come from understanding what you are doing, why you are doing it, and how to make thoughtful decisions when every client is different.
